Langoustines are right back on the menu, ready for summer entertaining:

The summer fishing season is now in full swing and The Amity 11 is once again starting to bring ashore plentiful delicious Langoustines. There has been a while though, during spring time, when Langoustine were quite elusive. These crustacean with their hard shells dig into their burrows at this time, in the seabed and cast their old shells. They re-emerge with a new shell, or set of body armour, ready for the summer season.

I know I have mentioned many times before, that over 80% of all Langoustine caught in Scottish waters are exported and this is a fact. Scottish Langoustine are a renowned delicacy in many parts of the world. The Langoustine fishery is very important part of the Scottish fishing industry with over 70% of the worlds catch coming from Scottish waters, all around our Coastline.

My wish is to bring the taste sensation, that is Langoustine, along with other freshly caught seafood directly to your table. Seafood with provenance, from our shores to your door, is my motto and that is exactly what we offer to do through my Skipper's Choice online store - Whether a pre-selected fish box or a bespoke selection of your favourite seafood.

With my years of fishing experience, as the skipper of Amity 11, I recognise the very best of the catch.  And, I am happy to offer advice about any special requirements you might have or what fish is best to choose, in any given month of the year. Over the summer, me and the team will be attending a few events, starting off with Turriff Show on 31st July.  At Turriff I will be supporting ESS/Compass, as their preferred seafood supplier. This is always a great family day out, so do come and visit our stand, where we will be cooking my tasty, freshly smoked, North Sea kippers, on the BBQ


Another highlight for us this summer, is The Sandringham Food Festival, a new show taking place in the south if England. We will be attending the event on 6-7th August, and I will be preparing a newly created seafood starter, in front of an audience of over 600. The dish contains some of the best Scottish seafood, including hot and cold smoked salmon and Amity Langoustines.
